About the Founder 
SSE is directed by its founder; Ronald R. Himebaugh.  Mr. Himebaugh is a Registered Environmental Professional (REP); a certified Professional Hazards Manager (PHM); a certified Occupational Safety Professional (OSP); a certified ISO 14000 Auditor and a certified ISO 18000 Auditor.  With a Masters Degree in Chemistry and a B.S. in Biology, he has over 35 years of experience in the fields of water and wastewater treatment; hazardous materials/waste treatment; industrial and municipal operations; and hazardous spill cleanup.  Ron holds a Class III and Class IV (highest obtainable) Ohio Wastewater Operators License.  He has authored numerous journal articles and co-authored the “Activated Sludge OM-9" textbook published by Water Environment Federation (WEF).  Ron has also developed an analytical method now listed as a preferred method in the "Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater."  Ron is also registered in "Who's Who in Environmental, Health & Safety Training (National Environmental Training Association (NETA).

 

Prior to founding SSE, Ron held positions as: 

General Manager of Woolpert Data Services, a Division of Woolpert Consultants LTD

Midwest Manager of Polybac Corporation's Centerville, Ohio office

Superintendent of Montgomery County Sanitary Engineering Wastewater Systems

Superintendent of Greene County Sanitary Engineering Wastewater Systems

Laboratory Manager of the Montgomery County Environmental Laboratory

For more than four years, Mr. himebaugh taught courses on “Advanced Wastewater Treatment” and “Laboratory Testing” for the State of Ohio Operator Training Committee (OTCO) – in association with Ohio EPA licensing.  He also served as an instructor for the course entitled “Industrial Biological Wastewater Treatment” offered through the Center for Professional Advancement (New Jersey).
